Awareness in the use of Information Technology

One night, I was watching TV and saw an ad that I found quite interesting. It’s called “Disconnect to Connect” which was produced by DTAC, a mobile phone provider in Thailand. It’s compound by a few stories about people who are totally absorbed by the device they are holding in their hands. It impacted me, because the people around the person with the phone were invisible. At the end, the people turn off their phone and the invisible ones are now visible and they all start to share the moment.

I invite you to watch the ad. Among other URLs, it can be found here

I think we, as part of the community of software development, should impulse the awareness in the use/abuse of the technology. DTAC shows its social responsibility by encouraging quality time with friends and family.
