Inflection Point’s Homecoming, a safe return to our Monterrey office

Inflection Point Systems, committed to the health and well-being of our employees, clients, and the community, began operating in a state of emergency in March 2020 due to Covid-19. Following the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Health Ministry of Mexico, our team started working from home, without knowing how long our time away from the office would last.

The Covid-19 pandemic has reached a point where companies and businesses in every region can operate safely, as long as the necessary safety measures are followed. Today, after a year and eight months of installing our desks somewhere in our home, we are more than happy to announce that Inflection Point Systems is reopening its offices for face-to-face work in Monterrey, Mexico.


How are we working to make this return safe for everyone?


Flexible work is here to stay, so in a hybrid model, we will continue monitoring the pandemic statistics for our team to have a safe return to the office. We know how much we have missed our facilities, the daily interaction with our colleagues, and sharing a delicious lunch hour with them. However, before taking this big step, there were different activities, countless meetings, and a volunteer return plan for the whole Inflection Point team, #IPSHomecoming.


A trusted workplace and a safe return to the office: The first step before the big return was to prepare the facilities by carrying out a thorough cleaning of the office, which included the air ducts as well as the desks, and disinfecting partitions, chairs, and everyday utensils.


Another major challenge of the contingency is keeping the spaces sanitized, respecting a 1.5 meters distance, and the correct use of masks at all times. We wanted to know how we were going to follow these measures while making our staff feel safe and we opted for a gradual and voluntary return, in which only some desks would be available after being reserved through an app for us to sanitize them daily. Also, before arriving at the office, it is important to answer a health survey, so that the team in charge can have a record and monitor the people who have used our facilities in case there is an approach with someone infected.

It is important to mention that the Inflection Point team was cautious before this big day. In previous months, employees received a survey to ensure that everyone involved felt safe to return to the office and the management is also supporting those who feel they need to continue working remotely for longer, reinforcing this hybrid approach which we will maintain in the future. Another point to note is that all persons reserving a desk for working on-site, in addition to going through all the health filters, must have their full vaccination certificate, which includes two or more doses of the vaccine.


Within the premises, various signs have been posted to determine the healthy distance, the correct use of masks, the limit of people who can use the meeting rooms, and the desks that are available/unavailable. Antibacterial gel dispensers, specialized air filters, and proper ventilation of ducts can also be seen as improvements and changes being made for a safe #Homecoming

During the quarantine, thanks to our incredible organizational culture we were closer than ever. We hosted different events to keep our employees and their families together, such as the legendary #IPSOffsite, or the #IPSFamilyGetTogether, and the Marketing team along with the HR team came up with amazing activities such as #NetflixAndCovid, #QuarantineAdventures, #IPSWeeklyFitChallenge, and #IPSActiveRecovery. We also celebrated (from afar) important and super fun dates for the Inflection Point family such as Christmas, Halloween, and ‘Día de Muertos’. These events ensured that no one was left out during this time and strengthened the bonds with our senior employees and new hires.


Thanks to all the efforts and the culture we have created, our time working from home during the pandemic felt like a breath of fresh air. Fortunately, for the team, missing the office and their colleagues were the only thing they had to worry about. Everyone at Inflection Point maintained an incredible level of productivity, but we missed those hallway chats, the weekly lunches, the games, and working side by side (but not too close for now) in the office. It's great to be back!
